Zonia y Cesar Munico pudiesen haberse quedado en Peru donde la vida tal vez es más simple pero por el momento estan ubicados
El primero encuentro de Cesar con Los estados Unidos aconteció en el año 1998 con el estado de Montana en un pueblo llamado Dillon. Montana esta en el Noroeste del pais haciendo borde con el país de Canada. Cesar conoció a Zonia en 1997, un año antes. Mientras Zonia estaba en Peru Cesar viajaba una vez al año a su país natal. De estos viajes se formo una relación entre ambos que duraría hasta el 2002 cuando se casarían. Cesar no pudo dejar a su amada esposa en Peru mientras el vivía en Montana, por lo tanto Zonia lo acompañó en el año 2009. Lamentablamente Montana les duro un año. Cesar me dijo que era el frío y la educación de los niños (tienen 3 hijos: Keren, David y Ezequiel) que les animó a mudarse de Montana para el estado de Texas. En el transcurso del viaje, los Municos habían planeado pasar por Houston y tomar un vuelo a Peru en dónde pasarían las vacaciones antes de regresar a establecerse en Texas. Sin embargo, una tragedia ocurrió ya que se detuvieron por unos documentos que les faltaba para poder viajar en avión. Perdieron su vuelo en Houston, TX. Este evento delató el viaje por tres meses, en dónde los Municos tuvieron que vivir en hoteles, andar en taxi, y comer en Restaurantes. Al obtener ciertos documentos pudieron viajar finalmente al Peru pero Cesar se enfermó, y el regreso a rehacer sus vidas en Texas se atrasó aun más. En estos meses de enfermedad la familia de Cesar les pudo ayudar. Mientras hablabamos de enfermedades Cesar les decía a sus huespedes "¿Saben qué le digo yo a las enfermedades? Mas tú, Jehová, eres escudo alrededor de mí; Mi gloria, y el que levanta mi cabeza." Con esta misma fe Cesar tuvo voluntad propia para seguir adelante con su familia y en el año 2010 se re-establecieron en Houston, TX en dónde han vivido desde esos momentos.
Desde entonces los Municos han viajado constantemente a Peru con el corazón de poder ayudar a su gente en la zona Sur de Huancayo. Pero de eso hablaremos más en adelante. Por ahora, hablaremos de la razón por la cual nos juntamos para este documentario. Zonia le había hablado a mi madre para que le ayudara a planear una fiesta sorpresa para su esposo Cesar, iban a cumplir once años de matrimonio y quería que fuera un evento inolvidable. ¡Y así lo fue! Mi madre me contacto a mí y fue ahí donde me dio la idea de hacer un documentario. En ese entonces no sabía con que me iba a encontrar. No los conocía, ni ellos me conocían mucho a mi. Tal vez me vieron de lejos de vez en cuando, u me salduaron de mano, pero con mucho cariño la hermana Zonia me invitó a su hogar para celebrar junto con ellos.
El nueve de Marzo del 2013 Zonia y yo nos conocimos formalemente mientras entraba a su patio. Olía a carne asada y los niños estaban jugando en una tienda de campaña. Saqué mi camará para documentar cada momento. Desde el principio hasta el fin sentí que estaba en mi casa. Mas bien, tuve una experiencia cultural, ya que Zonia había cocinado una parillada estilo Peruano, un arroz amarillo, y una ensalada deliciosa. Poco a poco "hermanos" de la iglesia iban llegando, Zonia les había invitado. Cesar estaba encantado con la sorpesa de Zonia. Mas bien, esto fue mas que una buena sorpresa, fue una celebración departe de Zonia hacia su esposo. Despues, Zonia nos dijo a todos los que estabamos presente "Antes, yo nadamas quería recibir. Pero esta vez sentí que el Señor me estaba hablando. Sentí que me estaba diciendo, "Zonia, es mejor dar que recibir". ¡Y Zonia Dió! Con mucho cariño. El hogar de ellos estaba lleno de paz y había comunion entre los invitados y ellos.

"¿Qué le puedo decir a Zonia, mas que le amo?. Y que aparte de Dios ella es mi todo y mi universo," nos dijo Cesar. Despues de saciarnos con la paradilla y con pastel de tres leches, los Municos y yo empezamos a platicar del futuro. "¿Qué quieren cumplir en la vida? cuales son sus anhelos y deseos?" les pregunte.
Es ahí donde me contaron de la zona no alcanzada en Huancayo. "Bueno," me dijo cesar, "ya ha sido alcanzada, pero se han olvidado de Dios. Queremos decirles que Dios les ama y tambien ayudar a los pobres". Los Municos han empezado un proyecto misionero en su propia casa. Han estado acumulando materiales para poder distribuir a iglesias y a los pobres en la zona Sur de Huancayo, Peru. Actualmente estan collecionado instrumentos, ropas, zapatos, etc.
Estan planeando, primero Dios, en viajar el proximo verano a Peru en donde estos materiales seran dados a la zona no alcanzada.
Zonia también tiene otros planes. En un año quiere empezar su propio restuarante de cocina peruana. Le dije que sería su primer cliente. :) Como vemos, en este mundo no hay gente Pequeña ni lugares pequeños. Espero que hayan disfrutado de este primer Documentario NLP. Zonia and Cesar Munico could have stayed in Peru where family lives nearby and life seems simple. Yet, for the moment, they are located in Houston, Tx. Cesar is an industrial mechanic while Zonia is a stay at home wife. Any person that takes a look at this couple would think they are here for the same reason every immigrant is here for: the American dream. However, Zonia and Cesar are the exception. When asked what were the dreams and hopes they had for their children they replied, “we want them to be useful in society and to grow up serving God and with the fear of the Lord in their hearts”. This is exactly what the Munico Family represents. They serve their God and are helpful in their community! This couple cannot stay still before a world that is full of need. In their hearts there is a desire to help the needy and to preach the Good News.
The first encounter Cesar had with the U.S was in 1988 in Dillon, Montana. Cesar met Zonia in Peru in 1997 a year before coming to the united states. While Zonia was in Peru, Cesar would travel once a year to his native land. During these small trips a relationship formed that lasted till 2002 when they got married. Cesar couldn’t leave his beloved wife in Peru while he lived in the U.S, which is why they established themselves in Montana in 2009. Sadly, living in Montana only lasted a year. Cesar told me that the cold weather and their children’s education (Keren, David, and Ezequiel) were the major factors of moving from Montana to Texas. The Municos had planned to leave their car in Texas while they vacationed in Peru. Their plans were to come back and establish themselves somewhere in Texas. However, a tragedy occurred and they lost their flight due to the lack of specific documents that were needed to fly. They lost their flight in Houston, Tx and had no family to support them. This event delayed their plans for three months, as they lived in hotels, ate in restaurants and used Taxi’s as a form of transportation. When they had finally obtained their documents to travel back to Peru, Cesar got sick and their plans to come back and begin their new lives were delayed once more. During this month of illness Cesar's family was there to support them. While we were talking about diseases and sickness Cesar told his guests “Do you know what I say to sickness and disease? I say "But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high." With this same faith Cesar had the motivation to persevere and move forward with his family so that in 2010 they had re-established themselves in Houston, TX.
Since then, the Municos have traveled back and forth to Peru with the desire to help their people in "zona Sur de Huancayo". But we will talk about this later. For now, we will talk about the reason why we got together to make this documentary. Zonia had spoken to my mother seeking help in planning a surprise party for her husband. It was their eleventh year anniversary and Zonia wanted it to be unforgettable, and so it was! My mother contacted me asking for help and this is where I asked myself, 'why not document them?' At that moment I did not know what to expect. I did not know them and they didn’t know me. They might have seen me from afar or shook my hand once, but that was about it, really. Regardless, they invited me into their loving home to celebrate with them.
On March 9th Zonia and I formally met each other while coming in through her backyard. The BBQ was on the grill and the children were playing inside a camping tent. I took out my camera to document each moment. From beginning to end I was welcomed. Actually, I had a cultural experience. Zonia had grilled a Peruvian style BBQ, yellow rice, and a delicious pasta salad. Little by little, brothers and sisters from the church started coming ( Zonia had invited them). Cesar was delighted with the surprise that Zonia had given him. It was more than a surprise; it was a celebration from Zonia to her husband. Afterwards Zonia told all of us who were present, “before, I always wanted to receive. But this time, I felt like the Lord was speaking to me. I felt the Lord tell me, ‘Zonia, it is better to give than to receive’.” And oh, how Zonia gave! With a lot of Love. Their place was full of peace and there was great fellowship between them and their invited guests.
“What can I tell you about my Zonia? That I love her, and that apart from God she is my universe and my everything”, Cesar told us. After satiating ourselves with the barbecue and with Tres Leches Cake the Municos and I started talking about the future. “What is the purpose that you’re living for? What are your dreams and hopes for the future?" It was then that they spoke to me about the unreached people group in Huancayo. “Well,” Cesar said, “it has already been reached. But they have forgotten about God. We want to tell them that God loves them and we want to help the poor as well.” The Municos have started a missionary project in their own home. They have started saving materials that will be used for churches and the poor in Huancayo. Currently, they are collecting items such as: shoes, clothes, instruments, etc. They are hoping, God willing, that these items will be prepared for next summer so that they can bless this specific people group.
Zonia also has future plans. In a year she wants to start her own restaurant specializing in Peruvian cuisine. I told her I would gladly be her first client. :)
Like we have read, there are not Little People and no Little places in this world. I hope you have enjoyed this first NLP documentary.
