GEORGIA- NLP

You know that girl that seems shy but in reality she is fearless?

That's Georgia.

I met Georgia about two years ago upon getting married to Brian. Two years ago I left what I call now "my old church".  For those who are familiar with the magic school bus I was that annoying girl who kept saying "at my old school....", except I never said it out loud and this wasn't school. It was church. In my head I was fighting culture shock. I was being introduced to a much larger church than the small hispanic baptist church I knew.Though I had been part of a big ministry in college I was still holding on to the small church mentality. Every one knew each other, and everyone knew each other's business.

It is safe to say that Georgia was one of the first girls I met when I came to Faith. In fact, I knew she was different right away. I knew she was probably never going to be described as a bold person, but there was something about her demeanor that intrigued me. Georgia, was just Georgia. Not a fake, but a true person who had come to know Jesus because of a friend. She was there out of the sincerity of her heart, and that is not a common find.

This weekend, for the first time in two years, I was able to hang out with Georgia one on one. We had been together in the same room plenty of times but it is not till last weekend where I got to live life with her as a sister would. I got to hear her dreams and her thoughts. I got to see Georgia in action.

How can I describe her in a few words? Pictures can show beautiful images, and indeed she is beautiful, but if I could pick some words to describe her, they would be:

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Now its 2013, and 2014 is on it's way. I have been part of this church (Faith Assembly) for about two years now.  Despite making many new friends now at my "new church", Georgia is still one of the girls I talk to. In fact, she has been part of a small group of people that get together at my house every week to just have conversations about God. Every week we get together and share life. Living in Houston is not an easy task when you seek fellowship. It can be frustrating when you are trying to hang out with a friend who has a different schedule than you.  Life can get sometimes lonely, especially if you don't make room to be with others. Due to small group every Friday, I get to have a small taste of what I think Heaven will be like. Hanging out, drinking some tea, and chatting about how Good God is.

Georgia is the perfect description of what NLP's are all about. If you don't know what they are click here and read up on it.

As for now, I leave you with our signature quote:

“The people who receive praise from the Lord Jesus will not in every case be the people who hold leadership in this life. There will be many persons who were sticks of wood that stayed close to God and were quiet before Him, and were used in power by Him in a place which looks small to men . . . Those who think of themselves as little people in little places, if committed to Christ and living under His Lordship in the whole of life, may, by God’s grace, change the flow of our generation.”
Francis A. Schaeffer.

"A stick of wood", imagine Georgia being used by God. A stick of wood...No little places; no little people.
